Mr & Mrs Cash: gorgeous blingy winter wedding

Posted on March 7, 2017 by - Uncategorised

Mr & Mrs Cash were married at St Michael’s church, Kirkham and then on to Ribby hall village for the wedding breakfast and reception.

The theme was ivory and white with lots of bling and diamonds.

It was a cold and windy day but it didn’t put a dampener on the day. We delivered to the bride first thing and it was a hive of lots of busy excited ladies getting ready for the special day!

Georgia wore a beautiful ivory embroidered lace dress with sheer sleeves with beautiful lace details. She also wore a gorgeous full lace veil. She held a hand tied of ivory Avalanche roses, ivory calla lilies and gypsophila. It was adorned with a few brooches and wrapped in ivory tule and finished with diamante pins. There was a subtly Disney theme throughout the wedding, which gave a really fairy tale vibe, and so we made the mickey mouse shape on Georgia’s handle with diamante pins.

The couple had 5 adult bridesmaids who wore gorgeous t length ivory tule dresses with a beautiful satin bow at the waist. They each had a hand tied of 5 avalanche roses and gypsophila. They were tied off in ivory which (which completeley matched their dresses) and diamante pins.

There were also 3 lovely flower girls, who again wore beautiful ivory tule dresses. they each help a pomander ball of gypsophilia with two disney ear of eucalyptus to make i look like the shape of mickey mouse. They also were alice bands which were gypsophilia and ranunculus.

The groom wore a double buttonhole of ivory Calla lilies and eucalytpus berries.

We also made some lovely corsages and ladies buttonholes to match in with the theme. The mother of the bride request a raspberry shade with hers to compliment her dress.

The wedding party looked amazing in all their finery and stayed after the ceremony to have pictures in the beautiful backdrop of the church.

The church was decorated with pew end bunches going down the aisle and two blossom and willow tree at the front of the aisle frame the couple as they said their vows to each other.

From there, it was back to Ribby hall with the flowers from the church to finish off the venue ready for all the guests. The table centre pieces were tall cylinder with artificial blossom and willow twigs. Off the twigs hung glass baubles with tealights in. The arrangement was placed on a mirror base which reflects all the candles hanging above. It was lavished with lots and lots of tealights and hundreds of sprinkles to add extra sparkle!

The flowers from the pew ends were then used to make a placed flower top table display with floating candles placed in between. we placed small willow twigs on top to bring the table centres and top table together. We placed sprinkles on the table to give even more sparkles.

2016 highlights: Mr & Mrs Kohler’s beautifully vintage wedding

Posted on March 7, 2017 by - Uncategorised

As the start of the 2017 wedding season is approaching, here at Sonje Jones Design Team we are reflecting upon our favourite weddings from last year. we all agree that the one that springs to mind most is Kirsty and Dom’s beautifully elegant and vintage August wedding.

The pair were married at The Great Hall at Mains, on Saturday 6th August, which was a lovely clear day. Kirsty and Dom wanted a rustic look in pale pinks, dusky pinks, greys and ivories. The bride looked glorious in a beautiful ivory lace A-line dress. Kirsty chose a romantic combination of Amnesia roses, sweet avalanche roses, pink lisianthus, rice flower, astranthia, Brunia and dreamy foliages eucalyptus, ivy, scenecio. It was wrapped in twine and as Kirsty is a Disney fan, we embellished the twine with the shape of Mickey Mouse in pearls.

The four bridesmaids looked beautiful in dusky pink Chiffon dresses. We accessorised them with beautiful hand tides of Amnesia roses, Sweet Avalanches, lisianthus, ivory spray roses, brunia, white astranthia and eucalyptus. They were again tied off with twine. The bridesmaids bouquets beautifully complemented the bridal using the same shades of colours and some of the same flowers, however Kirsty had a wider variety of flowers exclusively to her bouquet which made hers all the more eye catching.

Dom wore an Amnesia rose with sprigs of Brunia, astranthia, rice flower lisianthus and eucalyptus. The dusky pink looked really elegant with his complimenting bow tie and his navy suit.

For the ceremony we incorporated the table arrangements and used them down the aisle to create a dreamy vintage backdrop for Kirsty’s big entrance. We created 4 large urn arrangements which were placed on our ivory coloumns which made such an impact as the guests filed in. The urns were filled with the gorgeous flowers to compliment the wedding, hydrangeas, white delphiniums, lisianthus, carnations, astilbe, rice flower, sweet avalanche. In between we placed wooden logs with jars, crates, bottles, tea lights, floating candles and rose petals which lined Kirsty’s path to Dom. On the registrars table were crates of all different sizes, bursting with complimenting flowers. Along the edge of the table were lots of tea lights to sparkle behind the lovely couple as they said their vows to each other.

After the ceremony, the team helped change the room round ready for the wedding breakfast while the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the sunshine. We utalised the flowers from the ceremony and placed on the tables ready for the meal. Four tables had the urns which were spread out around the room, this created lots of height and made the room feel magical. The other tables had logs bases with jars bottles, candles, crates and Mossad filled with gorgeous pink and ivory flowers. They were all slightly different which suited the rustic/ vintage theme. The registrars flowers were moved over onto the top table. We added extra flowers and bottles and jars onto the whole length of the table we then adorned the crates in moss, tea lights and pearls for a dreamy, romantic look.

Kirsty and Dom had a beautifully elegant ivory four tier cake, proudly presented on a log base with their initials carved in. We embellished it with roses and a selection of the smaller wedding flowers and ivy.

The couple had created a gorgeous crate display with old books, lace, and their initials we added jars of flowers just to give it that finishing touch.

The theme worked beautifully well with the traditional, rustic look of The Great Hall at Mains and all Kirsty and Doms little extra touches were really affective.

We absolutely loved creating this wedding and then putting our designs into place. Here’s what Kirsty had to say about our designs:

“Well what do I say other than AMAZING!! We booked Sonje around a year before our wedding and I have been in constant contact with her, sending images and tweaking the things we discussed as my ideas evolved. She was always super helpful and came up with fabulous ideas for what would look great on our big day. I knew our flowers were going to be beautiful but when I walked up the aisle, the flowers and decorations provided by Sonje took my breath away! Everyone has commented on how stunning the flowers were and I really can’t thank you enough for surpassing my expectations and decorating our room so beautifully! It was perfect and we are both so thrilled. Lots of love Mr and Mrs Kohler xxxx”
